DOCTORAL STUDY CURRICULUM IN THE FIELD OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES (FROM THE STUDY)

The study program is realized as a doctoral study at the Faculty of Agromediterranean in Mostar for a period of three academic years (six semesters). The study program of the third cycle of studies in Agricultural Science is a scientific-research-oriented study in which the student should achieve 180 ECTS credits.

The study program of the doctoral study includes:

1. lectures and other forms of teaching activities lasting 2 semesters and
2. research in the relevant scientific field in 4 semesters.

48 ECTS credits are acquired through teaching in the narrow sense. The remaining points are obtained through research work that is mostly related to the topic of the doctoral dissertation. ECTS credits based on research work are realized by the student through experimental work in laboratories or experiments set in production conditions, verified research activity and preparation and defense of the submitted doctoral dissertation.

The curriculum of the doctoral study consists of a compulsory and an elective part. In the first semester, the student gets acquainted with the theoretical foundations of a particular subject area through teaching from common subjects and compulsory subjects of a particular subject area. In these subjects, the student is required to pass the exam in the manner prescribed by the subject program. In the second semester, the student chooses three elective courses, each of which corresponds to a load of 7 ECTS credits. Within these subjects, the student is offered topics from which the student, in agreement with the subject teacher, selects one or more of them and deals with them in more detail in the form of a seminar paper. One or more elective courses (up to the maximum total credit value of ECTS 21) a student may enroll in another appropriate doctoral study, at an institution with which such an agreement has already been reached. A student may enroll in more than three elective courses if, in agreement with the advisor, he / she estimates that enrolling in additional elective courses will not interfere with the performance of study obligations.
