A GUEST LECTURE BY PROESOR FROM PRAGUE WAS HELD
In the period from 1.5.2023. until 14.5.2023. In 2008, at the Agro-Mediterranean Faculty of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar, a series of lectures by Professor Zbynek Polesny from the Faculty of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic, was held. Professor Polesny is an expert in the field of ethnobotany and is the author of a large number of scientific papers in prestigious journals.
During his visit, Professor Zbyinek held lectures and field lessons for students of the first and second cycle of studies.
Through working with Professor Zbynek, students had the opportunity to learn and work on collecting and herbizing plants characteristic of the Herzegovina region, and special attention was given to wild plants that are traditionally used in the diet of people in these areas. Also, students were able to work with a press as well as description of the collected plant species.
After this instructive cycle of lectures and exercises, the students mastered the practical and theoretical part of the teaching units that are studied simultaneously at our Faculty.
Professor Zbynek, together with the students, conducted a survey of producers of herbal products at the markets in Mostar.
We would like to thank Professor Zbynek, who, during his visit to the Agro-Mediterranean Faculty, devoted the most attention to working with students.
