Visit to Jaffa-Komerc Blagaj

Students of the second year of undergraduate and graduate studies at the Faculty of Agromediterranean, as part of the General Fruit Growing and Pomology classes, visited the Jaffa-Komerc Blagaj plantations.   On this occasion, students were able to see new plantations of strawberries and apricots, as well as various systems of growing fruit species of peach, cherry, apple in full yield. Subject professor prof.dr. Jasmina Aliman gave lectures to the students and practically showed the modern ways of growing different types and varieties of fruit, and the students had the opportunity to pick and taste different apple fruits directly from the branch, which is important, among other things, for evaluating a given variety. .
After visiting the orchard, the students of our Faculty gained additional knowledge about the most modern fruit storage machines, the method of storing fruit in refrigerators and the mechanisms of the cooling system.
We hope that this visit will help our students to master the subject, and certainly in further education.
