Dear students and friends, welcome to the website of the Faculty of Agromediterranean, Džemal Bijedić University in Mostar.
The Faculty of Agromediterranean was founded in 1997/1998. year and is one of the eight members of the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar. Classes at the Faculty take place through three study departments at the undergraduate and graduate level: Fruit and Vineyard, Vegetable and Florist, Ecology and Environmental Management in Agriculture. The launch of the graduate study of Urban Agriculture, as well as the doctoral study of Agricultural Science, is in preparation.
In the teaching process at the Faculty today, more than 50 syllabi are performed at the undergraduate and graduate level of studies. Undergraduate studies (bachelor's degree) last three years (180 ECTS), and graduate studies (master's degree) two years (120 ECTS). The faculty also made all the preparations for the third cycle of higher education - doctoral studies - lasting three years (180 ECTS).
In line with the reform tendencies of Džemal Bijedić University in Mostar, guided by the spirit and ideas of the Bologna Declaration, and a number of other key documents related to the European academic space, the Faculty of Agriculture is working on a thorough innovation of curricula to meet the challenges of the times.
The Faculty of Agromediterranean provides its students with a quality basis for professional training for work in various governmental and non-governmental institutions, companies, educational institutions, starting their own business as well as for continuing scientific research work.
Having in mind the experiences and positive achievements of related faculties in the region and beyond, teachers and associates of the Faculty are determined to offer Bosnian youth a number of recognizable quality study programs comparable to most developed studies in Europe.
In the transition process of Bosnian society and higher education, which focuses on scientific interdisciplinarity, the Faculty of Agromediterranean will continue to develop the applied dimensions of knowledge in the broader context of the achievements of agricultural sciences.
In addition to the basic mission - education of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Faculty of Agromediterranean University "Džemal Bijedić" will continue to express its commitment to the development of scientific and professional cooperation of the Faculty. Although currently the cooperation is very intensive. The Faculty implements a large number of scientific projects financed from various sources with domestic partner institutions and with partners from abroad. Great emphasis in the activities of the Faculty has professional cooperation with partners from the agro-industry, as well as agricultural producers and family farms. Through professional cooperation and direct transfer of research results into practice, the Faculty intensively contributes to the development of agricultural production with an emphasis on the application of the latest research results for the purpose of sustainable agricultural production and further promotion of sustainable development.
Throughout its history, the Faculty has successfully passed through numerous challenges and has continuously developed in all areas of activity. Further progress on the same principles is our challenge and task for the future. It is certain that the employees of the Faculty will contribute to the development of the Faculty, the well-being of its students, partners and society as a whole with their dedicated work.
